The iguna used to be this wonderful, quirky little deli. You self ordered and they had the most wonderful sandwiches, coffee, flavored tea and beer and wine. The place changed hands, they went to table service ( which the resturant was not configured for) changed the menu and jacked the prices up. The service was HORRIBLE, difficult to get waited on and orders were often wrong, silverware and napkins so not brought out with food, etc. Really sad because it had been such an iconic place next to the university in downtown Tahleuah

Under new management and they mean business! I have been a patron of the Iguana Cafee' since it opened and it is the best it's ever been! The new owners have done a great job refreshing the decor without losing the excellent Iguana essence and charm. The menu offers all your favorite Iguana sandwiches plus some excellent new additions! I've been eating my way through the menu starting with the salads. The blackened chicken southwest salad is very good and the jalapeño ranch dressing was a nice twist on the dressing that also serves as the official "Oklahoma state drink." I have also had their "green" salad with feta and strawberries--I added a chicken breast and it made for an tasty lunch. They have also recommitted to their "coffee shop" roots with brand new espresso machines and baristas that KNOW how to use them! This leads me to my favorite aspect of the new and improved Iguana Cafee'--- Their wide selection of custom roasted, locally sourced, sustainably grown coffee and espresso beans! I typically drink a double shot, unadulterated so as to truly taste and smell the quality of the bean and roast. I am so impressed on every level--this is the BEST espresso I've tasted in the United States--it compares to the shots drawn at Gambrinus in Lisbon--if you love espresso and coffee drinks--go to the Iguana right now and brighten your day! Lastly but not "leastly," they have a full bar, a great selection of "house made" cocktails and beers for any palate. The Iguana Cafee' is my new local favorite!
