The atmosphere is very old school style (dark reds, dark wood) and it was loud. The meals are good portions, flavourful, and quickly served. We had the lamb, garlic app, tiramisu, and seafood a la mer. Everything tasted great except the tiramisu which wafers were too dry (not soaked enough) Perfect cook on the lamb and the garlic app is worth it! Very rich. Overall we'd definitely go back for the food and service, but maybe not for the formal evening we were expecting due to how loud it was. I have been here a few times all for special occasions and I ve never been disappointed. The portions are large and the food is tasty and flavoursome. Absolutely love the Roasted Garlic bread which is just chefs kiss!!! I could survive on just that if I had to. (I dont recommend sharing this as your friendship might end. However you can just order more too) The seafood risotto was great with a good portion of seafood. I ve also had the manicotti which was really good too! First time visiting Il Buco this week and we were there at lunch time. The lunch menu had a set 3 course meal from which you could pick soup or salad, an entree, and a dessert of ice cream or tiramisu (extra $3), or you could order from the a la carte menu. We chose the set meal, and also had a glass of wine each. I need gluten free so I ordered a goat cheese salad which was delicious, and the pork scallopini, with no breading on the pork, and gluten free pasta. The entree was really good, but I did find the portion a little small. My husband had soup of the day, which was cream of mushroom, the same entree as me but with regular pasta, and the tiramisu for dessert which he said was the best he's ever had. Overall it was a really nice lunch and wine, but was quite expensive so we would probably only go again for a special occasion. Service was great and the server was very helpful in explaining what gluten free options I could have. You have to pay to park in the municipal lot behind the restaurant, but you can access the restaurant via a back door, so it's very convenient.
