Incredibly underwhelming. Japanese sashimi- tuna or salmon-more choice at yo sushi, frankly. Fatty fried chicken karaage, yakitori was OK but anyone can make that and the mochi ice cream is mochi moon from the supermarket!. Won't be going back. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2

Disappointed. I have been to issho so many times last year and it was amazing. I booked a table for 2 today and it’s raining so bad that our jackets were wet. The reception staff took my jacket, accidentally dropped it on the floor with no sorry given. Whatever, and then she put my jacket with a wet jacket on the same hanger which caused the inside of my jacket wet as well. What a brilliant idea! We ordered a sushi platter, and the color of tuna is so disappointed. I genuinely thought it was another kind of fish. The whole night, no one came to check our table once when the table next to is has been checked at least twice and I need to turn around to ask for more water. The colleagues have explained that they do not always get the same kind of tuna and the floor manager was really helpful and polite. But still, It could be so much betterit’s quite obvious how bad the color was this time compared to previous.

**Issho Rooftop Restaurant & Bar, Leeds** - Issho Rooftop Restaurant & Bar in Leeds is a quintessential gastronomic journey to Japan, right in the heart of England. We opted for the Emperor menu via the Virgin experience and were floored by the flavours, presentation, and overall dining experience. The meal began with Edamame, perfectly seasoned with Shiso Sesame Salt - a simple yet delightful start. The subsequent Issho Sushi & Sashimi selection was nothing short of an artful presentation of the freshest fish. Each piece was expertly crafted, showcasing the elegance of Japanese cuisine. Next, the Chicken Karaage and Nobashi Prawn Tempura both offered an enticing contrast of textures, crispy on the outside while remaining succulent and juicy within. The Lime & Coriander Mayo provided a tangy punch that complimented these fried delicacies wonderfully. Our journey through this menu took us to the tender Chillean Seabass, served with Wakame Seaweed, and the Miso Mustard Duck Breast. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, with well-balanced flavors that left us wanting for more. The accompanying Tenderstem Broccoli and Steamed Rice, seasoned with Sesame & Spring Onions, provided a beautiful harmony of flavours. The climax of this indulgent feast was the Chilled Caramel Purin. The dessert was light and luscious, with a delicate balance of sweet and creamy, a perfect ending to a spectacular meal. Though the Emperor menu does not typically include Sake, we were instead offered a bottle of red wine. It proved to be a delightful companion to our meal, enhancing the diverse flavours of each dish. Beyond the culinary delights, the staff at Issho were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance is chic and relaxing, with a rooftop view that adds a special touch to the overall dining experience. All in all, a visit to Issho Rooftop Restaurant & Bar is not just about enjoying good food, it's about immersing yourself in an authentic and elevated Japanese dining experience right here in Leeds.
