This place was very reliable for me. They were generous and I like their version of Pad Thai. Pad See Ew was fine too. If you know where all the ladies who cooked there work at now, please tell me.

I've been a customer at Jai Thai for years. The food has always been good and the service pleasant. That no longer is the case. The other evening, I called Jai Thai first to inquire what time they'd close the kitchen...the response was 8pm. At 7:30 I called back to order a take-out meal. My call was answered by a bar staff person who immediately asked if I could hold a minute because he was slammed. He put the phone down at his station, I'm still on the other end. Well, five minutes became ten, became 15, then 20. All the while thinking "this guy's gonna keep me on the phone til the kitchen closes!" At 7: 50 I threw on my shoes and was at Jai Thai within 5 minutes. Still with my phone against my ear! There was a waiting line of four people. Three of them eventually just walked out without ordering. The time was 8:00 and I'd been on the phone holding for 30 minutes, and now physically standing in the restaurant waiting to be helped for over 5 minutes. When after another five minutes no one had even come to the front, I went to bar looking for someone, anyone to take my order before the kitchen closed. There was one Server, frantically being frantic but without really doing much other than flailing. When I finally got his attention, I likewise got his attitude. When I showed him my cell and said "Remember me? I'm the one you put on hold over thirty-minutes ago!" He was really, really snotty. He just stared at me and asked what I'd like? I gave him my order and he snapped at me "Ten minutes, tops!" In ten minutes, I returned. I stood at the front of the Restaurant for another 10 minutes before he even approached me to tell me my meal was coming but it was late. Another ten minutes, most! Fifteen minutes later I was handed my food and received a deferential mutter. I then realized I'd never been handed my credit card back after he'd rang my meal up, so I asked if he'd mind returning my card. It was as if I'd asked him to build a golden calf! He just stared blankly at me... I assured him that he still had possession of my card, and I wasn't leaving without it! He found it, handed it to me and I left. Two things were painfully obvious: 1. the Wait staff is not properly trained about how to manage time and treat customers. 2. this particular staff might want to review his occupation options. I doubt I will return to Jai Thai. The service quality has gradually diminished to the hot-mess I encountered the other night. It's a shame.
