Oh no! Why did this place close? So sad. Caazi and his wife were amazing and their food was outstanding! First heard about their previous location on Triple D and it did not disappoint. Their 2nd location across the street was even better. Same outstanding food but even better atmosphere. I hope they just moved or opened up a new joint. Does anybody know?

This place leaves a gross amount to be desired! If you are not accustomed to good Caribbean food I could see how you would think it's good. I just moved to Hawaii and since I'm from the Caribbean I wanted to seek out food I love. I was disappointed by the food which was way overpriced and scarce in addition to the service which was subpar. Again, if you are seeking good food and good service, I would skip this establishment for sure!

I attempted to dined at Jawaiian Irie Jerk Restaurant recently after seeing an episode of Diners Drive-Ins and Dives, and was incredibly disappointed. It is all my fault for believing any words that Guy Fieri speaks about the food he is tasting and for not looking at the date of the footage sooner. However, the Yelp reviews are recent and they are all good so I don't understand what happened on the date I stopped by Jawaiian Irie Jerk Restaurant. The exterior of the restaurant is not inviting but I really try not to judge a book by its cover. As I walked into the restaurant, I was still underwhelmed but was greeted by smiling faces. So that eliminated some of my anxiety until I was seated at a table with old worn chairs and badly stained cushions. I placed a napkin on the chair before sitting down and after looking around to see that all the chairs were the same. I pushed forward and ordered my meal of oxtails, rice, plantains with corn fritter. When the meal was delivered to the table, it looked great but the taste was horrific. The oxtails while very tender were bland but the coconut rice was light and flavorful. The plantains were dry and tasteless. The flavor of the corn fritter is indescribable only to say that it too was dry and tasteless. I could not get past the initial bite taken of the food and expressed this to my server before leaving. As a side note, my server did state that the chef hurt his leg and someone else was cooking. Regardless, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
