The lady with short hair (not sure if she’s manager) was giving us a mean look face all the time, refused to help us change to the other table that not next to the washroom, rushing us to leave (it was 8 and they close at 9), and when we said the pork ribs tasted not good, she said “don’t come next time if you don’t like the food” which is very rude. The pork ribs barely have any meat but all bones, the eel is $38 and was tiny amount. For sure we’ll never come again, and we won’t recommend our friends come here. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $40–50 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

Terrible service. If you would like to have a good mood please do not come this restaurant. Their food is terrible and service is awful. If you say something or complain. Their manager will ask you do not coma again and give you a shit face. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

For the price its not bad. My parents was looking for a reasonable Chinese New year Eve place to have dinner and they found this restaurant. I mean the other restaurants were charging like $500 plus for 10 course meal. Dad didn't want to pay this (parents are retired). So we found Jin Jiang Shanghai Restaurant. Well I do like Shanghai food. 10 course meal for $268 before tips and tax. There were only 6 of us and when we walked in and ordered the waiter was like "too much food, you can't finish". Dad believe having 10 courses with left over is good luck. We told him its ok.. Waiter was convinced. First dish the cold appetizer. Had a variety of stuff like duck, drunk chicken, jelly pork, cold veggies, etc. It was pretty good. I liked the duck the most. Had lots of flavors. Second dish: soup with a seafood and veggies. Not bad. It was good. Portion was huge. 3rd) garlic prawns. my favorite. Well it was very garlicy and best of all it had lots of flavor. Only fall back was the prawn was a bit too over cooked. 4th) Crab was ok. The white sauce didn't have too much flavor to it. I liked it. but not wow. I mean crab was a bit too over cooked or maybe wasn't like super fresh fresh. 5) whole duck with bao. I like it. But i am already full. Wish there was sauce to compliment it. 6)Pork in brown sauce) not bad. not bad. lots of flavor. 7)sweet and sour fish. The fish is so cute. it looks like it has arms. Ok that is not the important factor here! I liked it. wish he was a bit bigger. but it was tasty. I mean anything sweet and sour is good. 8)a plate of bak choi - not bad. nothing special. 9)xiao lung bao. There is soup inside the XLB. Skin is a bit thicker than say some Shanghai restaurant in Richmond. But this is Burnaby so can't expect too much. 10) fried rice with tried scallop. Was ok. Too full to eat. For that price I would say its a 4 stars. If don't consider price just food quality its definitely a 3. Will come back except its kind of far from where I live. Yaletown. I mean you have to take skytrain than bus over. If you drive its still far. There are free parking at Best Western, underground.
