I am writing this review to share a very serious experience I had recently at KFC Albany. While the customer service was perfectly fine and the atmosphere inside the store was quite nice and clean, the freshness and safety of the food were completely unacceptable. I ordered the Boneless Spicy Chicken and Wicked Wings. Looking back, the chicken definitely tasted like it had been sitting out for too long and wasn't fresh. That very same night, my stomach started cramping heavily, and I came down with severe diarrhea. I had to rush to the bathroom 4 times between that evening and the following morning, experiencing intense stomach pain. The cramps were so severe that they even woke me up in the middle of the night. Today marks the third consecutive day since eating there, and I am still suffering from persistent diarrhea and stomach distress. It is incredibly disappointing that a major branch like this has such a glaring lapse in food hygiene and temperature control. While the staff and the seating area are fine, I cannot recommend eating here until they drastically improve their food safety standards. Lifters and regular diners alike, please be extra cautious. 0/0Very disappointing experience at the Albany KFC today (2 July 2026). The customer service was extremely poor. One of the young female staff members worked very slowly and seemed completely uninterested in serving customers. It felt more like she was on vacation than at work. The waiting time was incredibly long—I waited at least 30 minutes for my order. Throughout the wait, the staff showed little concern for customers and seemed indifferent when people asked about their orders. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but customers deserve to be treated with respect and kept informed. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst service experiences I’ve had. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves both the service and efficiency at this location. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

It is very clean as it has been recently renovated. I ordered the $45 chicken set, swapping four pieces for Hot & Spicy and adding coleslaw. While the Hot & Spicy and Wicked Wings were fine, all six pieces of Original Chicken had such a strong gamey smell that I couldn't eat them. It felt like it was undercooked at a low temperature. I considered going back to exchange them, but decided against it because of the rush hour traffic and the hassle. I have eaten at KFC for decades, but this is the first time something like this has happened. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: NZ$10–20 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
