I must say, normally have a good experience. However tonight I went to the drive thru at 11:45 which is supposed to be closed at midnigh. I can understand it is late, however they are supposed to to close for orders at 12, not 15 minutes before. When we go to the drive thru they asked how ‘we could help’ said what we wanted to order and they said they were closed, which opening hours say otherwise. Absolutely appalling, do not recommend as ‘fast food’ but kfc is nice. Just a shame some staff can’t provide the service set by the franchise. Honestly if you want something to eat in the evening don’t bother going here, I’d rather go to the bp garage 30 second away and have to cook it myself. At least if the service is not as specified it’s your own doing, not the laziness of an employee. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £1–10 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I've visited this branch once in person and have also ordered from here a couple of times. Unfortunately, my experiences have been fairly mixed, and overall I've found the food to be somewhat disappointing. On more than one occasion, parts of my order have been missing, which is frustrating, especially when ordering for delivery. The food itself has been acceptable but never particularly memorable, and it hasn't quite met my expectations. That said, it's important to keep things in perspective. This is a fast-food takeaway, and for the price you pay, it does the job. The food is convenient, fills a hole when you're hungry, and can be a quick and easy option when you don't feel like cooking. Overall, the experience hasn't been terrible, but there is definitely room for improvement in terms of order accuracy and food quality. It could have been much better. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Absolutely shocking experience at KFC Springfield, Chelmsford. I went in today and asked if I could order at the till because I had a few changes to make to my order and I find the self service screens difficult to use. I was told by a member of staff that they were not allowed to serve customers at the till because of management. This made no sense considering I had ordered at the very same till just three days earlier without any issue. Even more confusing, KFC's own website states that while they encourage customers to use the kiosks, you are still welcome to order at the front counter if you prefer. That certainly wasn't the case during my visit. What made it even more frustrating was that the restaurant was virtually empty. There was only one other customer inside, the drive thru was empty and several members of staff were standing behind the counter. From my point of view there was no obvious reason why my order couldn't have been taken at the till. The food didn't make up for the poor service either. The chips were cold and the BBQ Wings looked nothing like the pictures. Half of them barely had any BBQ coating and the sauce was runny instead of the thick sticky glaze you would expect. To top it all off, after this disappointing experience, a member of staff came over while I was eating asking me to leave a review in exchange for free food. I declined but they continued to encourage me to do it. If you're asking customers for reviews, you should first make sure they're actually receiving good service. Overall this was one of the worst experiences I've had at a KFC. Poor customer service, inconsistent policies, disappointing food and a complete lack of customer care. I won't be returning until these issues are addressed. I have made a formal complaint via the website and will wait a reply. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
