Worth going!. Stopped in last night with a few friends. There were a few tables occupied but we were still met with a friendly greeting, sat quickly, and water brought right away. The menu was easy to peruse (ingredients listed for each item) and there are some unique offerings that grabbed our attention. The food was brought out quite quickly, yet not so quick that one might suspect it was pre-made. The staff were fantastic and the prices were great, less than a number of places I've been in town and Kamiyo's food was better. I'm surprised by some of the other reviews, they don't seem to pair up in anyway with this place.
We ordered an array of Ramune (Japanese Soda with a push down glass ball plug) for the sheer novelty of it. They brought out a complimentary miso soup that wasn't like any miso I've had before; it was almost sweet. Kind of strange but it wasn't bad, just not what was expected. The nigiri we ordered came out first; nice cuts of salmon, tuna, unagi, and a healthy portion of chop-chop (no hotate last night, but the chop-chop was among the best I've had). Shortly after came the tempura sweet potato maki (delightful and huge! not the city standard single stick in a tiny roll). That was followed up with a Four Season's, a Hawaiian, and a Volcano Roll. All of them were incredibly distinct and very tasty. From what we saw going to other tables, there's definitely more rolls here I'd like to try.
All in all it was a great experience; friendly personalized service, great food, and great prices ($66 to feed 3 of us, including the $13.50 we spent on the Ramune). Next time we'll grab some tea and try a few different items. Totally looking forward to going back soon!

In flux.... Kamiyo has great potential. Their Tempura was the first I've seen with Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper and smelled heavenly. Their rolls are quite fresh and have an interesting twist. My only complaint at $9 the 5 piece dynamite roll is a bit steep but the 8 piece unique California roll compensates. The salads are quite good and the baby octopus salad was surprisingly excellent. Their Miso soup is atrocious. My biggest complaint is they have very limited hours and are often not open on time or are randomly closed.
