We were warned: by reviews and by friends who had already been there. But we had read in the Tagesspiegel that the former head chef at Speckers Landhaus, Steffen Specker, was involved in the concept of Kengs Landhaus. Then we had to give it a change. It ended up being frustrating: a noisy place because every inch of the room was used to funnel as many guests through as possible. There were a lot of guests in the room, close together, with quite loud music and the waiters constantly stressed and hectic. Due to the stress of the employees, no personal advice or attention to the guest is possible. We felt like we were not being recognized as guests. The service is uncoordinated: aperitif only comes after two reminders; no drink with the meal, the wine only came when we were finished. This has absolutely nothing to do with a (cozy) country house! Yes, the food was really of extremely good quality. But honestly, if you're lucky enough to live between Berlin and Potsdam, you have plenty of options for excellent dining. That makes the difference: how well you feel as a guest, received, advised and served. That's why we go out to eat, that's why we're prepared to dig deep into our pockets. For that satisfied feeling after a visit to a restaurant. We couldn't find that in Keng's country house. Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
