King's Hardware tiene entre sus bebidas una espectacular cerveza de grifo, un delicioso whisky y una estupenda sidra. Most bizarrely terrible customer service I’ve ever seen. Should have turned away when, on a busy Friday night in Ballard during dinner rush, this place was half-empty. We were beginning our night with food to celebrate my father in law’s 50th birthday. It started with the bouncer, who seemed extremely depressed or something and was taking IDs at the pace of a snail. He looked extremely annoyed that we were there and would mumble each of our first names while making eerie eye contact. We shrugged it off to some people just being weird. Stepped inside, looked around. Someone employed there gestured to the booth in the corner by the window. Our family of six gladly took the window seat. We chatted and hung out waiting to be seen until we realized nobody would actually come over. Meanwhile, outside, an employee stepped out and got into an extremely heated conversation with the depressed bouncer. Overhearing them through the window, they were fighting about their coworkers. Said father in law approached the bar asking for menus. The confused bartender said, and I quote, “You want FOOD, too?” and held a long pause. My equally confused father in law said, “Yes?” This prompted the guy to reach under the table and pull out two menus for our table of six. Father in law asked him “Could I possibly get a few more?” The employee stared at him blankly and then WALKED AWAY. I can’t tell you about the quality of the food because we did not get any, even though everyone else in the establishment - without exception - was eating food. After reconvening, we promptly left and swore to never come back. The service, smell, decor, and vibe were abhorrent and it’s a downright shame that there isn’t a better business to take its place in such a beautiful, historic stretch of Ballard. Don’t bring your wallets here because they don’t seem to want them. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Had a great time here the other night, had a splendid tequila sunrise at an average price. Was pretty crowded on a friday, but nothing crazy, I was able to get my drink order in quickly. They have some fun games in the back that I put some time into with the gang. Bathroom was acceptably clean for a bar. Will be checking this place out again soon and will update my review with any added thoughts! Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I came to King's Hardware for a friend's birthday - none of us had ever been but it was recommended to her and I'd heard good things. We lucked out, though, with our seating situation. It was PACKED on a Saturday night and we got the last table available - and when our group grew, another group left and we magically inherited their table. This is one of those bars that has something for everyone: it's hipster-y enough for the hipsters, dive-y enough for those who like dive bars, and has games for those who are into that (skee ball!). Also, great people watching. And dudes sitting at tables writing code on their laptops.I can't speak for their drinks because I stuck with cheap beer all night, but the waitress definitely kept 'em coming. I'm really interested in trying the food next time I'm here - I've heard good things and would love to come check it out.
