There’s a lot to like about Kinoto – the generous portions, the broad range of dishes, and the fact that it’s one of very few restaurants in the area. The food though? Pretty mediocre. We enjoyed lunch at this wonderful little slice of Japan in Robina. Friendly, relaxed, good food, what more could you want? Our host had a face of warmth and kindness as she took our orders of teriyaki tofu, and calamari karaage. The dishes arrived quickly just after our cute pitcher of water. The teriyaki tofu was a special and included miso soup. The soup was fantastic and the teriyaki tofu likewise. Flavours that dance on the tongue without ever leaving a heel mark. The Calamari was equally as impressive. I found being served with chips was a little odd but a bowl of rice was still served anyway. A curiosity rather than a complaint. The menu was complemented by a specials board so a great abundance of dishes were on offer.. There was a good variety of places to sit including outside which is where we perched. The place was busy with a steady stream of clientele. It never appeared busy though and the same calm, thoughtful, service continued without bustle. Great. The prices are pretty good too. There seemed to be a good amount of parking. Overall a stupendous lunch outing and experience. Thank you. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A fantastic family run Japanese restaurant in Robina. We walked in and tried several dishes and each one of them were balanced, tasty and well presented. The pricing was more than reasonable. We had the Agedashi Tofu, Salmon Nigiri, Pork Gyoza, Teriyaki Sweet Chilli Tofu, Wagyu Beef with Salad, Kinoto ChaShu Ramen & Chicken Nanban. We also tried the Kinoto Parfait. All our dishes were outstanding and topped off with the friendliness of the family. We read the reviews about the place before we tried here and I am not sure if some of the 1 star reviews are accurate. Kinoto Japanese restaurant deserved our 5 star rating and we will be dining here again soon.
