The conclusion in advance: We have already seen a little more of the Croatian south and can enjoy its culinary delights. There were a few things here that left us a bit perplexed. Likewise, the taste experience for us was not explosive or creative, as we expected based on the reviews. After the boat tour in Pakistan we went looking for a restaurant in town - of course, once you're there, you can combine dinner straight away. Because of the great reviews we went to Kokonoba. Since the pictures with the fish and the steak appealed to us, we ordered sea bream and steak. The ambience is great, located right by the sea you have a great view over the harbor and out to the open sea. Very nicely decorated and with a really courteous waiter. Up to this point everything is perfect. The steak is served with three types of sauces or dips, something for every taste. The onions were our favorite though. We ordered medium rare, but unfortunately the taste only met our expectations. The grilled vegetables and the potato side dish were good - but if the main component isn't that great, that only helps a little. We were surprised by the grilled sea bream. Because it was grilled, but apparently not brushed with oil and garlic afterwards. So it's not so crispy anymore. And then a large part of the side dishes were under the fish. Accordingly, these were "soaked" with. The plate was large enough that the side dishes could have been positioned differently. Or swap the arugula from the edge with the warm potatoes under the fish. The fish tasted good and the quality was great. Unfortunately, there were differences in the taste due to the fish being subsequently coated with oil. I would have preferred it simply on the grill. Certainly personal impressions that others also find invalidating. Everyone can decide for themselves when visiting Kokonoba.
