Food was good, drinks were solid, but service was PHENOMENAL. Harmony was the bartender, and she was simultaneously handling 5-7 different groups at the bar, serving multiple hibachi tables, running everything to and from the kitchen, and doing all of it while creating the most inclusive and friendly atmosphere, it was truly a delight to watch. She was patient and incredibly helpful to newcomers finding their way around the menu (me) and cracking jokes with a dozen regulars in a way that made it feel incredibly homey in here and led to strangers starting conversations in a really cool way. I haven’t been to Kyoto in 7 years, but the salad was great (amazing ginger dressing), the vegetable tempura could’ve used a bit more seasoning, but the star for me was the vegetarian veggie hibachi special, which came with a veritable mountain of flavorful fried rice and nicely cooked veggies. Harmony introduced me to a few of their new drink specials, which were all very good, and in general the service and atmosphere she provided is why I’ll definitely be back.
