I don't know why I don't come here often at all! LJ's is known for their seafood and fish and chips, and today we went to get fish and chips for lunch. Quay Street is quite close to uni so that's a bonus as well.

I ordered the crumbed hoki and chips — it cost $1 more for crumbed but it was well worth it. I've always been a fan of their chips and the seasoning they use as well! It tastes a lot like lemon pepper seasoning? I could be wrong. The best thing about LJs though, is they make all your orders fresh. They don't have already fried fish sitting in warm cabinets; when your meal gets to you everything is piping hot! So so good.

The service is as good as it gets at a fast food chain. The guy at the counter was nice and friendly even though I took a long time to decide what I wanted.

I'll definitely go back!!!!

This fish and chips outlet of the LJS franchise is a good place to go for great tasting fish and chips. Snapper is an outright winner. The presentation of the food and the knowledge of staff needs big improvement.

In the world of take out food, LJ's is a solid winner. Their classic hoki and chips will fix any kiwi fish'n'chip cravings. If you're willing to spend on upgrading to snapper, even better still. The french fries sprinkled with a perfectly balanced lemon pepper seasoning. Also tried the deep fried oysters which would rival any fancy restaurant. Great food overall, sincerely hope to see this franchise thrive.
