At first glance, Locals seemed like a charming spot with a cozy vibe and friendly staff—but don’t be fooled. What started as a promising evening quickly spiraled into one of the most frustrating dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. After a warm welcome, we were forgotten. No drinks came to the table after the first was served and when I mentioned I have celiac disease and needed a strictly gluten-free meal, they assured me it would be no problem. What did I receive? A dish clearly contaminated, and to top it off—they brought bread. Yes, actual gluten-filled bread, right in front of me. It became very obvious they had zero understanding of what gluten-free actually means. When I voiced my concerns, I was met with rude, dismissive attitudes, and one staff member even had the audacity to say, “Well, you’re difficult makes sense—you’re not a local.” Excuse me? That kind of treatment is unacceptable, unprofessional, and frankly, disgusting. If you care about dietary safety, good service, or even basic respect—avoid this place at all costs. Being a tourist is not a crime, but serving unsafe food and then mocking your guests absolutely is.
