I chose La Casina di Alice as the place to celebrate my master's degree. I had already chosen it as the location for the bachelor's degree lunch and this time I wanted to do something special with my friends after having defended a thesis on Percy Bysshe Shelley and veganism! I found the room prepared specifically for my celebrations: red tablecloth perfectly matching the pretty lights hanging from the ceiling. The dinner was nothing short of amazing! The menu consisted of a trio of starters (tomato soup, vegetable cheeses with jams, 'wrong' borlotti soup); paccheri stuffed with Nicotta (they are something superlative!!) with cherry tomatoes and Taggiasca olives; marinated seitan with vegetables and dessert. Everything was accompanied by wine, water and sparkling wine at the end of the meal. When the cake I had asked for arrived - an exquisite cheesecake with strawberries - I was truly amazed by the pyrotechnic candle with a pink/lilac flame that they placed on top. What a beautiful surprise! My guests and I enjoyed dinner and found the restaurant cuisine really good. I think that a place like this is a real gem in Livorno! This dinner will remain among my best memories! Very friendly staff, very little waiting and excellent service. I've been following this place on IG for a long time and finally the opportunity arose to go for lunch. I complimented the chefs because this restaurant was a discovery and, now, I would like to bring my friends too. The cappellacci and the aubergine are excellent. The pea Bavarian cream is very delicate. Perhaps as the only suggestion I would allow myself some background music but... well.. nothing special... It was a nice lunch and we will be back.
