La Chinesca está muy cerca de Commercial Bank of Australia Building. A sus usuarios no les gusta el marisco de este bar.

Great spot for a catch up with friends or colleagues after work for a quick drink but Friday nights are a tight squeeze with no personal space. Food is above average but I'm not able to nominate a stand out from the menu.

Descending where?. Service: The Maitre D' openly expressed his annoyance for being bothered with the few requests we had regarding seating and a coat hanger. He happily told us to sit at the bar when there was no where to even stand. We were over quoted on food. The glasses were dirty. All wait staff was exceptional. Patient and listened well and was generally prompt. The bar entailed a wait of about 10 minutes from as early as 8pm.

Food: Exceptional taste and presentation. Small portions for $$$. The chef and cook staff have come from a good place and I'm sure has even more opportunities in the future.

Atmosphere: A gorgeous den tucked away off Russel. The address is misleading but finding the stairs around the back was like find the entrance to a secret world.

La Chinesca is somewhere I never got around to for the longest time, as before, they were toting a Chinese and Mexican fusion menu, and although I like both cuisines perfectly fine, I was a bit sceptical of the two together.  However, they’ve decided to do an overhaul of the menu and play to chef Daniel Salcedo’s real strengths, who not only helped make a seriously good argument for South American cuisine in Carlton with Piqueos, but is a native of Lima himself.
