La Flamme, formerly L'Escargot in the 70s, is an excellent gourmet restaurant, which is also affordable. First of all, the welcome is warm, whether from the young staff or the more experienced and veteran staff. The furniture is comfortable even on the benches, the weather is good and the restaurant does not skimp on heating. This changes everything because nothing is more unpleasant than being cold during a meal. For ordering, it's super simple: you take what you want and the menu adjusts. The menus therefore range from €19.90 to €39.90, drinks included (glass of wine or soda or water). Some dishes may be subject to a supplement but nothing prohibitive (2 to 3 € more). The dishes: I had a terrine of foie gras, duck breast for the main course, and Williams pear ice cream for dessert, and a glass of red wine. As an aperitif, a blackcurrant kir for €4.50. We stay within reason. The dishes are plentiful in meat: you really get what you pay for. On the other hand, when it comes to vegetable accompaniments, move on. My son had a ravioli, my other son 3 spoons of mashed potatoes and I had 4 small potatoes... The restaurant could do a tad better. The bread is individual and we were supplied with each dish. A bun, not slices. Regarding the scallops, on the other hand, there are too few: as a starter, my wife had walnuts: there were only two. For main course, she also had nuts and expected more quantity. Unfortunately, only two scallops. Excellent dishes nonetheless. For those with a small appetite, it is suitable. The restaurant is therefore generous, especially when it comes to meat, which is quite rare these days. Our duck breast was perfectly pink and tasty. We all ate very well. The highlight of the show: dessert. Avoid the two scoops of ice cream: two scoops floating around in a large deep dessert plate. Without decoration, without anything, weird because it gives the impression that the dish is for a dog lol. But very good ice cream. For my part, I had the Williams pear sorbet and the waiter poured me a good glass of liqueur. I said: GE-BORN-ROUS! I adore ! The children had crème brûlée. Excellent. €250 for 7 people including 3 aperitifs and 4 coffees. Each menu therefore cost us €36 (starter, main course, dessert and drink). FYI, the traditional menu including cheeses is €39.90. A great time to repeat. Bravo to La Flamme, the flame of desire, the flame of satisfying the customer.
