This local brewery may be a bit hidden, but those who have tasted their brews certainly come looking for it. I have been here three times and each visit has been great . We have done beer tasting a few times and they are a perfect way to understand the local brewing traditions. They walk you through the brewing timeline in Latvia - a nice history lesson...with beer hahaha. The server (who is also a brewer) was extremely knowledgeable and made for an interesting time for our large group. There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, with some nice beer snacks to go along with the brews. Thanks.

My new, favorite Latvian beer is Labietis. After tasting their offerings in the big market downtown, we decided to trek out to the brewery and check out what else they had available. A cool little section of town, some light snacks and 16 different beers on tap. If you are a beer lover, it is worth the trip. And oddly, they were playing the entire day of one of my favorite albums of 1989, The Sundays “reading, writing and arithmetic”. Very random…
