Not had a chippy meal for many years so not really able to compare with other fish and chip shops in the area.
The Cod and chips was excellent. Arrived hot and well cooked. Very big portions.
The Steak & Kidney Pie again was hot, Quite small but tasty. Didn't come with foil tray (which I used to love). Perhaps this is standard now. Nice.
Scallops were large and well cooked. Again, arrived hot. Excellent
Cod Roe was very small. So tiny in fact that it's hard to rate. So pass here. I just remembered them to be twice that size and half the price. Bit finicky but it was wrapped with the Sasuage. Rather they were kept separate. No rating possible.
The mushy peas were average. Can't see mushy pea lovers coming from miles away to grab these. However, mushy peas they were. Price really shot up since I last had them.
Sausage was the only real disappointment. Was frankly not very nice. Tasted stale and old. Batter not the same. Thumbs down
So there you go. Nearly 10 years since last chip shop meal. Prices have shot up. Obviously nationwide. The fish and chips were excellent. Hot and well cooked. Would highly recommend. Scallops again excellent. Pie fine. Sausage poor and cod Roe very small.
Just a review based on ONE visit.
