Just had the best celebratory dinner at Le Colonial in Cherry Creek and I'm still thinking about it The atmosphere alone is worth it -- super dim, romantic lighting with gorgeous plants everywhere that make the whole space feel lush and intimate. Perfect spot for a night out with my boyfriend. Service was a little on the slow side, but honestly the vibe and food made up for it. Drinks were amazing - he had a Hendrick's and tonic, and I had a few lychee martinis that were SO good. Food highlights: * Pork rolls wrapped in lettuce... OMG. Our absolute favorite thing we ordered. So fresh and flavorful, I've never had anything like it * Ceviche was super spicy but I still loved it (especially the shrimp). * Chicken curry was incredible -- really rich, flavorful, just so comforting. * My boyfriend got the roasted duck with bao buns and sauce. He loved it, though it wasn't my thing texture-wise (a bit too chewy for me). We finished with chocolate cake (so good) and an espresso martini that was actually real deal quality - no cold brew vibes, thank goodness Overall, such a great experience and I can't wait to go back. Just a heads up though -- with a few drinks it can get a little pricey, but for a special night out it felt worth it. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I had high expectations for Le Colonial Denver, but the experience was very disappointing from start to finish. We had a reservation for 8:45 PM and weren’t seated until around 9:20. No one acknowledged the delay, apologized, or provided any updates we had to ask ourselves what was going on. The only response we received was from the greeter, who said she would inform a manager but couldn’t do anything. A gentleman then came over and explained that a party wouldn’t leave, but while speaking with us, he was dismissive and distracted, continuing to engage with others instead of addressing our concerns. After being seated, the service didn’t improve. No manager came by to check in or address the delay. We placed drink orders, and while waiting to order food, we briefly took photos for a birthday celebration. Around 9:50, our server rushed us to order, stating the kitchen would be closing in 10 minutes. We explained we had been waiting on him, but the interaction felt more like pressure than hospitality. Once the food arrived, no one checked on us not once. No follow up, no refills, no effort to ensure everything was okay. The food itself was just okay, but the lack of service completely overshadowed it. I spoke with a manager (I don’t recall his name), and the interaction was frustrating. He was defensive, interrupted me, and took no accountability. Another manager, Karen, joined and, while trying to relate, spoke negatively about her own team, which was unprofessional. There was more laughter and deflection than genuine concern. From arrival to departure, the experience felt disorganized and unprofessional. Delays happen, but the lack of communication, poor service, and management response made this an unacceptable experience especially for what is presented as an upscale restaurant.
