The Thai food was actually quite good, and the vibe and decorations were beautiful — the tiger-themed interior was what attracted us to come in despite the restaurant’s low reviews. The atmosphere had a lot of character and the dishes tasted nice. However, the experience at payment completely ruined it for me. Our bill had a decimal amount of 11.2 THB. I had some Thai coins, but like many tourists, I’m not very familiar with all the coin denominations. I gave the staff a 10 THB coin and one very small coin, then politely asked if it was correct. The waitress told me I needed to give 12 THB, but I didn’t understand why. I asked what value the smallest coin was, and she became visibly impatient. Another staff member came over, yet neither of them would clearly answer my simple question about the coin denomination until I repeatedly asked again. Eventually they told me it was 0.5 THB. Since 10.5 THB still wasn’t enough for 11.2 THB, I gave them an additional 5 THB coin. What confused me was that they did not take the 0.5 THB coin and instead took 15 THB total. I expected them to return proper change, but they simply gave me back 3 THB — meaning they charged 12 THB instead of 11.2 THB without any explanation or confirmation. The actual amount of money is tiny and not the issue. If they had simply asked whether rounding to 12 THB was okay, I honestly would not have cared at all. What made me uncomfortable was the attitude and the feeling of being deliberately misled while my questions were ignored. The waitress even acted as though I was the problem for asking basic questions about the coins. It felt dishonest and disrespectful. When we entered, we were the only customers in the restaurant while staff stood outside trying to attract people in. After this experience, I unfortunately understand why the reviews are low. The bigger the restaurant, the worse the experience. I really wish I had checked the reviews before stepping into Lee Bar and Restaurant. It’s clear they put all their effort into the facade and the decor to lure people in, but once you’re seated, the quality drops to zero. The Service The staff was incredibly disengaged and indifferent. I didn't feel like a guest; I felt like a nuisance. When the food finally arrived, it felt like it was thrown at me rather than served. There was no hospitality to speak of. The Food For the prices they charge, the value is simply not there: Portion Sizes: Tiny and definitely not enough for a full meal. Flavor: Completely bland and flavorless. It tasted like zero effort was put into the seasoning. Presentation: Messy and unappealing. It looked nothing like the photos out front. Verdict: Don't be fooled by the big, bright exterior. Save your money and go to one of the smaller, local spots nearby where the food actually has soul and the staff actually wants you there. Tip: In Patong, the best meals are often found in the smaller "hole-in-the-wall" spots a block or two back from the main beach road!
