Before I start my review, I must say that it will focus on the service and how the entire team made my friends and myself feel. This was my first (but definitely not the last) time at this, more than fine, establishment! The cause for celebration for the group of people I met was my best friend's B-Day. Now, before I give a detailed review of the night, I have to go back to a few days before the event. My friend and I stopped by a few days ago to confirm all the details about the party. Now, one of the things that makes this place above all others in Belgrade, is how the owners and the General Manager treat you as a guest and a potential client. Tanja and Dule greeted us and sat down to go through the entire menu, seating plan, decorations and everything else on that agenda. Their wine knowledge is impeccable. The food options are out of this world. But more to come on that soon. Everything was agreed on and soon enough the night of the party was there . The dress code for the restaurant is smart casual but the restaurant is everything but. We had our own private place located on the top floor with our own dedicated serving and bartending staff. I worked at a 5-star/5-diamond restaurant in Aspen and when I tell you that the service at LeFer is up to that standard, you better believe it! All the servers were fast, efficient, and most importantly knowledgeable! The smile never left their face and every one of us felt welcomed and special (keep in mind that we are not needy people). General Manager Dule, as well as one of the owners, Tanja, were present, making sure that everything was running smoothly. The head bartender Dacha might easily be one of the most knowledgeable bartenders I have seen in the 30 years of working in this industry. When we talked about my preference of gin-based cocktails he said "allow me to get to know you as the night goes and I will make sure that your drink is up to your standard". Not only did he keep his word, but he is probably the only one serving me in the last 25 years who actually said something like that! Food was delivered and there is not enough space to begin to explain the complex flavor profiles hitting the palate with each bite! And that part I will leave for you to find out! The entire establishment is decorated in a very unique way, each section of the restaurant is different with some features as a base of interior decoration being recognizable throughout the restaurant. We stayed a bit past our agreed time, but let me tell you this: not one of the staff or the management ever gave us a hint of dissatisfaction of having to stay longer. We hugged and kissed (Serbian custom) and they wished us a safe way back to our homes. On the side note: I have been living in the US for the last 14 years, lived in 4 different States and I worked in casual , fine dining and Forbes rated restaurants. Trust me when I say this: LeFer is the most perfect, and to my standards, up to stars and diamonds rated restaurant I experienced in Belgrade! This place is NOT the must, it is a STANDARD that you must experience and a must standard for all other restaurants in this city!
