Dear diners, does anyone know what happened to this Liyuan restaurant? In July this year, I went to a restaurant for dinner and was repeatedly persuaded by a polite-looking waitress wearing glasses to buy a VIP card for $500. Since I used to eat at this restaurant often, I bought it without thinking twice. As a result, when I went back, I found that the door was closed, the phone was not answered, and the voicemail was full. It turns out that we were the source of the profit, and we were deceived before we closed down. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I guess it doesn't matter now since it looks like both their restaurants closed down. I can see why as their food and service were horrible. All the dishes we had tasted stale, like they've been frozen for a long time. Good thing we didn't buy any gift cards they tried to sell us. Kind of feel bad for the people who got tricked into buying them Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: CA$40–50 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1

My family and I have always had Lee Yuen Seafood Restaurant on our regular restaurant roster. Great food, decent prices. This was the first time I ordered takeout since the start of the pandemic, and the first time I remember (on a whim) trying the Takeout Combo Dinner for 4. Since we ordered the takeout combos, we couldn't use the 10% off on PickUp, or the coupon (on the front of their menu) but it is consoling if you calculate (as I did), the total turned out to be just above $15 per person before taxes and tip. A good deal especially given the amount of food we received, and delicious food it was! Yummy sweet and sour pork, huge spring roles stuffed to the brim (I hate those spring roles that are half air when you bite into them), extra order of deep fried wontons and deep fried shrimp. My absolute favourites were the deep fried breaded chicken (crisply fried without swimming in oil) with the side of lemon sauce, the broccoli and beef (many kudos to Lee Yuen for allowing the substitute without any fuss) and the chosen Yang Chow Fried Rice that was not oily at all! The four of us ate to our heart's content and even then we still had a hearty amount left over. Can't wait to go back! Next time, we will order something outside of the combos.
