I had the pleasure of finally trying Lee’s Kitchen after a few people recommended it to me. The food is good, I ordered the oxtails, jerk chicken, sides were cabbage, white rice, plantains and yams. Being from NYC, I have high expectations for food especially oxtails. It wasn’t the best I’ve had but they were tasty. The jerk chicken, cooked to perfection but the flavor on whatever that sauce was on top was a no! The yams were good and a good portion size. I spent about $53 in total and had 2 drinks. The service is the biggest reason why I rated them the way I did. Walking in as a first timer or just as a customer, I like to feel welcomed and to be greeted. Staff members were not rude but they were not friendly and welcoming. People don’t have to support you or buy your food, so when people come in that are clearly first timers (based on all the questions I asked lol), you should be a bit more friendly. Leaving it was no thank you, no come again, no have a nice day. It was your food is done. No thank you! I said thank you but received no response. Customer service can make or break your establishment. Good food is not enough. I always go back for a second try as anyone can have an off day and it’s towards the end of business. I’ll try them again mid day and see what happens! Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
