I have been to my share of Michelin star restaurants and this one ranks near the top. The attention and precision paid to the entire dining experience is on display from the first to the last of many bites. There were several standouts including the small bite with mussels, scallop main, sea bream, and the A5. We tried the Drew pinot that we had never heard of and it paired well with the meal. We will be back. Just gonna need some time. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Had an amazing birthday dinner at Lilo in Carlsbad. Honestly, the food was outstanding. I'd call it the best restaurant in San Diego right now. What sets Lilo apart is the fresh take on upscale dining paired with superior customer service. The beautiful courtyard where you start and end your evening is perfection. Our drink pairings were perfect and really elevated each course. The food was the star though. Every dish was a can't-miss. Zero misses across the board. The open kitchen setup was masterful to watch. My favorites were the uni amuse bouche, which was an incredible start, the perfectly executed abalone dish, and the melt-in-your-mouth wagyu beef. The scallop with just the right hint of fresh wasabi was excellent, and the little bread loaf served with the wagyu was a thoughtful touch. The ice cream with caviar was an unexpected and memorable finish. The playlist was a vibe, and service was attentive without being overbearing. If you're looking for a special occasion spot in San Diego’s North County, this is it. Can't wait to go back.
