Tried Little Athens Gyro for the first time today. In a nutshell, was not very impressed and will not be returning! Not sure where all the great reviews are coming from as this place was very dark and terrible atmosphere! The food was pretty decent aside from the pita chip fries, which are not fries at all, they are square chips of fried pita. They could have been good had the Parmesan cheese they sprinkled on top not smelled and tasted sour, as if they had never refrigerated the cheese and it seemed it had been sitting out for months and therefore tasted and smelled like a sour rag! That alone turned me off from the rest of the meal! Also it was very dark upon walking in and wasn't sure if they were open at first. Finally the wife who is the owner took my order but her English is very broken and she is not very friendly, at least she wasn't in the beginning but then warmed up to us a little toward the end. Would not say it's the best Gyro I've had but was pretty good. Since my fries got mixed up and I really wanted the little Athens fries, which are the same as regular french fries with some kind of Thai/paprika seasoning on top, those fries were waaay better than the pita fries and they came out hot. Just wish I could've gotten those fries the first time. Whatever you do, do NOT get any Parmesan cheese sprinkled on your fries, as your fries may taste like a sour rag as mentioned above! Terrible atmosphere and wish I had gone to Yasou Cafe as my gut told me to originally. Will try Yasou next time!
