This was our first time dining at Local Roots, and it definitely won't be our last! We've eaten at quite a few high-end steakhouses over the years—Ruth's Chris, Mitchell's, Eddie Merlot's, and Smith & Wollensky and my husband and I actually agreed (for once ) that Local Roots steak has earned a spot in our top three. The steak was cooked perfectly and packed with incredible flavor. The lobster mac and cheese was absolutely delicious, too. The chicken on my salad was just a little on the dry side, but it was still good and certainly didn't take away from the overall experience. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely courteous from start to finish. He even laughed at my husband's jokes... because, let's be honest, someone has to. That alone earned my husband's approval! Overall, we had a fantastic dinner and are already looking forward to coming back. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30

This was my second time at Local Roots. The service was wonderful, as was the food (again). I'm vegetarian, my best friend is not. The selection was fantastic. Our server, Austin, was attentive, friendly, and took care of everything we needed. Food came out very quickly. We look forward to coming back :) We had the Bread Board, Spinach Salad, Mushroom Ravioli, and Sweet Potato Fries. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section

This was an excellent experience from beginning to end. We were a party of 5 that were sat at the odd table toward the rear of the restaurant but it worked perfectly for our group. 1. Service - Kyle was incredible. You can tell he has been honing his craft for many years by the level of attention to detail he had. He was quick with offering drink recommendations and even helped out a member of our party after letting her know a drink she ordered may not get finished and there was nothing wrong with being honest about it. He was friendly and welcomed us like we were family. 2. Atmosphere - The restaurant is amazing. The inside is warm and inviting and weve been told we have to come back to eat on the patio for the live music which we'll plan on. Bathroom was clean and overall we were impressed. 3. Food - Good lord the food was amazing. We had been told by Kyle that over 90 percent of ingredients were locally sourced and you could tell. My wife had a salad with shrimp and my loaded burger with goat cheese and a jelly was delicious. You could tell just how fresh everything was. The chipotle honey hummus was a big hit with the table as well. Only recommendation would be maybe more mozzarella on the bruschetta. My wife was celebrating her birthday and Kyle made sure to let us know she was able to get a free dessert. The chocolate cake was super rich but very very good. I can tell you the reason this restaurant has survived over 17 years is clear. The owner has been doing everything right and you cannot deny that its worth it. Price per person: $50–60
