The worst restaurant. I’m not sure what it was with the food but we didn’t end up eating half of it.

Local44 was just a short walk across the parking lot from a place I was visiting and it was very convenient for lunch.Walking up to the building and stepping inside, everything is painted black, making it very dark. It actually took a few seconds for my eyes to adjust. They have tons of TVs, behind the bar and hanging from the ceiling. They appeared to provide most of the (dim) lighting in the space. We chose to sit in a booth, where the lighting was a little better (especially for taking pictures).After perusing the menu for a few minutes and considering the daily specials, we chose the 1/2 price pasta (Wednesday special), and Wings, also on sale for the day.The pasta dish was Rigatoni Veal Meatballs with fresh ricotta, grana padano cheese, fresh basil, parsley, and amole olive oil. It was a generous serving of meatballs, versus pasta and it wasn't bad, although we tasted an ingredient in there that didn't seem to be in the description. We couldn't tell what it was but we enjoyed it just the same!The wings, served with fries, were also good. They were slightly larger than I'm used to seeing at most restaurants, and well seasoned, without drowning in sauce. The fries were also nice and crispy.The rest of the menu seemed to reflect a wide variety of cuisines. There was Jerk Chicken (Jamaican), Tacos (Mexican), Pasta (Italian), Manakesh (Lebanese), Asian Baby Back Ribs, and more. They also have a decent selection of beer and wine.Overall, we were happy with what we had and would come back to try more. Walking back outside required a lot of squinting as our eyes adjusted to a bright sunny day. I almost forgot it was daytime...
