We have had some outstanding dinners here in the past, so we were very disheartened with our latest experience, which unfortunately fell well below our expectations. We ordered the Halibut and the Surf & Turf to share. The steak was the only part of the meal that was okay. Sadly, the rest missed the mark. The halibut was overcooked and dry, the saffron rice had no flavor, and the lobster was also overcooked. Additionally, the Gratin Dauphinoise (which is just a fancy name for au gratin potatoes) was dry and lacked flavor. When my husband expressed how disappointed we were, management kindly offered us a complimentary dessert. Since we don’t eat sweets, we declined. Based on the execution, it felt like perhaps a short-order cook was attempting to make a gourmet meal and failed. Moral of the story: if you're looking for a nice, well-prepared gourmet dinner, this is not the place. It might be an okay option if you are just grabbing a burger and fries, but we won't be returning for a nice dinner anytime soon." Price per person: $100+ Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

anytime i come up to the lake i always end up here at least once, i think i've been coming here for like ten years at this point. finally stopped by again last week and got the pulled pork sandwich was so big i couldn't even finish it, brought half home for breakfast. also learned the hard way a second cocktail is not a great idea at altitude dont ask me how. people are super friendly and the deck is a really nice spot just to hang for a while, music was good too, a nice selection of classics. i'll be back again next trip for sure, feel kind of dumb that i don't hit this place everytime im local anymore.

July 2. Our table of 6 was sat promptly. The hostess said she would bring water and a server would be with us. We sat for 20 minutes without a single person coming to our table or bringing water. Tables around us were getting food, drinks and having orders taken. With the prices they charge, we decided we had enough and left. The restaurant up charges on split plates, credit cards and tables of 6 or more are charged 20% gratuity on the after tax bill. We will never return. We drove to Portola to a Mexican restaurant and before we could look at a menu the waitress brought us chips and waters. The difference in service quality was night and day. Service: 1
