With camera in hand and an eye for a bargain he traversed the length of Lonsdale Street from Melbourne Central down past the County Court and on towards the Southern Cross Train Station. There he came upon a whimsical sight, a row of lemongrass behind a cool glass window and a sign that said Lua: Flavours of Vietnam.
It looked inviting and our foodie hero stepped inside to survey the menu. He was greeted almost at once by a pretty native from the land of Lua who flashed him a pretty smile and so his decision was made. He would order the grilled lemongrass chicken baguette.
Our foodie hero sat down to wait and was rewarded handsomely as the beautiful native of Lua sat down a delicious looking baguette with fresh ingredients before him and not long thereafter an iced Vietnamese coffee with which to quench his thirst. He thanked her and bit down on the baguette, savoring the goodness of the lemongrass flavored chicken, carrot, cucumber and other tasty ingredients. Perhaps the foodie hero pondered he should've taken the risk and asked for chillis as well. Next time he promised himself.
With the final few bites of the mouthwatering baguette he washed down the taste with the iced Vietnamese coffee and noted that it too was most satisfying. Once home he would have to spread the word about this newly discovered nation of Lua with its pretty, smiling natives that were the nation's beating heart and its homely, tasteful decor that was surely its pure and dazzling soul. And so with a gladdened heart and warm feelings our noble foodie hero left the nation of Lua in order to find his next foodie treasure.
