Am an ex restaurant employee in Raleigh and Seattle. Was very surprised to find this place existed in gso. Have eaten everywhere...undercurrent, print works and it's sister restaurants, salvinos etc.. etc.. This place is truly unique. First off...best server ever...thx Abigail. Second, this is not a "come fill your belly" with high end food a la Fleming's or mariscos. This is definitely an experience to savor. While not a vegetarian we ended up getting 2 dishes that were. The cauliflower and artichoke dishes were phenomenal...then finished with the gravlax which was equally tasty. One of the nicest touches was having pbr on tap! Along with an excellent negroni and paper airplane....these guys know their stuff. Not at all pretentious, amazing food that seems so simple yet the chef's twist on it is so surprising. Come here to eat art. Thanks for being in gso...a gem. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

From the hostess to the cocktails and everything in between this place slaps. High end food with a down to earth staff. All of our food was amazing! The lamb belly won first prize followed by the banana pound cake. In each bite you can feel the thought of every ingredient . Each bite had balance from sweet -salty to smooth-crunchy. I couldn’t recommend more! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My husband and I went to machete to celebrate my birthday. We were greeted with amazing service from Art, he is incredible. The food was stellar I am still dreaming of the smoke fingerlings! No wonder this place was a james beard nominee. The cocktails were perfect as was the coursing of our selections, from the ever eclectic menu. Art did a fantastic describing the dishes and made some incredible recommendations. I highly recommend checking machete out. Seriously though ask for Art you won't regret it! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
