We are long term customers of MINATO - been coming here since over 2 years ago when we first moved. Back then, the fish was very high quality and even if the bowls were a bit pricey, it was 100% worth the cost - 5 stars no question. More recently, the prices have increased but more importantly, it seems the quality of the fish (we pretty much only get the chirashi bowl) has gone downhill. Dont get me wrong - it’s still some of the freshest fish in Seattle, but it’s not the truly tip top fish we had before. I’m hoping MINATO can get their fish freshness back to what it used to be - I don’t mind paying higher prices IF the fish is still fresh. By far the best and freshes raw fish I've had so far in Seattle. This is the level of quality you'd expect to get out of extremely costly omakase experiences in Seattle, but significantly more affordable in comparison. The service is flawless. When you go in you'll see how fast the workers try to package the orders as the come out of the kitchen. They are also extremely pleasant. I highly recommend. Great lunch spot for poke bowls! The fish tasted super fresh and the portions were really satisfying. Everything tasted clean, flavorful, and well prepared. Perfect place for a quick lunch or something light but filling. The atmosphere was nice too and the service was friendly. Definitely a spot I would come back to when craving fresh poke.
