Having made a mistake with dates, there were 2 of us for Sunday breakfast, rather than 4. Staff and manager very welcoming, choices on menu varied (Indian/English) We ordered Big Breakfast and Shashika. Food perfectly cooked, staff couldn't be more attentive but not intrusive. Thoroughly enjoyable experience. So much so that we've booked again on the correct date for 4. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

wow! What a place. The food is delicious, the space is laid back and relaxing and the staff are lovely. There’s something for all tastes and it’s all so well cooked. Review of The MITR Restaurant Recommended by my friend Ellie, The MITR Restaurant had been firmly on my “to-do” list — and earlier today I finally had the time to visit. My goodness, what a treat. Owned by the fabulous couple Simran and Manvinder, The MITR opened on 3rd December 2024. I remember visiting when it was run by previous owners, but this new chapter has truly elevated the experience. It has instantly become my number-one stop for Indian food, with a focus on flavour rather than fire. So if you’d like to actually taste your curry — without having to drown it in cold lager — this place will be your number one too. The restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday and also serves a fantastic English breakfast during morning opening hours. Between them, Simran and Manvinder bring over 40 years of experience in catering, cooking, and hospitality — and trust me, it shows. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, the menu extensive, and nothing ever seems too much trouble. Both owners are friendly, polite, and professional without being overpowering — always on hand should you need advice or recommendations. My only small negative is that the toilets are upstairs, meaning it isn’t fully disability-friendly. However, this is purely due to the age of the building and absolutely not the fault of the owners. I’ll definitely be back in January to try their asparagus soup — my personal favourite. Ellie, thank you so much for the recommendation. The MITR is a genuine food oasis.
