We visited Moko for lunch, and it was a truly memorable family dining experience. It is easy to see why this restaurant has earned a Michelin star, and in my opinion, it is more than well-deserved. The atmosphere was incredibly pleasant and provided the perfect setting for our meal. What truly set the experience apart was the service; it was exceptional, striking a perfect balance between professional and genuinely warm. There was nothing pretentious about the service, but rather a familiar and relaxed hospitality that made the entire afternoon even more enjoyable. As for the cuisine, every course from start to finish was outstanding. The attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients were clearly at a Michelin-level standard. We had a wonderful time, and I can highly recommend Moko to anyone looking for an excellent lunch experience. The star is more than justified. Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I’ve had the pleasure of dining at Moko three times in the past 2 years (photos being a composite of the visits) and each meal has been sublime. To me, Moko is the quintessential expression of what a Michelin-starred restaurant should be – exceptional hospitality, superlative food, and a sophisticated, yet traditional venue. For those interested - I was also told by Chef Alexis that the garden in the machiya was designed by the same team that worked on the Toraya Kyoto Ichijo store - another spot which is well worth the visit. This is one of my favorite French fine-dining spots in Japan, and I can’t recommend Moko enough. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ¥10,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Truly a magical night from beginning to end. The warmest, most genuinely engaging and welcoming staff we’ve ever experienced. The food was deliciously inventive throughout. The most memorable dinner of our trip to Japan, perhaps in our entire lives. Only one Michelin star? I predict more stars in MOKO’s future.
