Has changed to turn. I made a reservation one month ago on open table. Was told Muse was quiet and romantic . We arrived to a noisy restaurant in between the check in desk and bar. Very loud with overpriced bar food. Save ur money! Not worth it!

This resto doesn't belong in a four seasons. Up your game.

Good, if not great. Definitely worth the price for a leisurely, quality brunch.. We've been going to Muse every few months for Sunday brunch since they reinstituted their buffet, a couple of years back. It's a relatively small location--13 tables, and a long table with 10 chairs. There's not much display space for the food, but nearly everything is extremely well-chosen, from the few platters of sushi, to the few salads and large, succulent shrimp, to the select, upscale deserts. Omelet station to one side, it's not really a gourmand's place, but something within hailing distance of an upscale buffet-style brunch, something Cleveland has lacked for a long time.

The entrees are interesting. Instead of utilizing steam platters, Muse has four covered iron skillets. After one has been out for a while, it's checked, and if overdone or dry, moved to the back and replaced despite whatever food may be left. (This is a good idea, and one that would be nice to see implemented in so many places where the entree line merely means a series of slightly different-flavored varieties of vulcanized rubber.) The contents include not merely a meat, but its complement: vegetables, rice, pasta, or potatoes. We're usually impressed with the preparation. This last weekend, for example, veal parmesan was provided that, for once, wasn't simply veal in tomato sauce with some unknown cheese. You could see, and taste, basil, garlic, and oregano; and the sauce was made from moderately pureed tomatoes, with plenty of threads remaining.

Sometimes the entrees are less memorable, inclining to the Midwest standard of "keep it bland, or someone's great-grandmother will object." Another dish this past weekend was a cod, in a nearly invisible white sauce, with squash. It fit this description perfectly. Sadly.

But these instances are rare, rather than the norm. By and large, we're impressed, not with the variety at the Muse brunch, but its quality. And that applies to the service, as well.

There is one exception I would note. When we arrived, with a reservation, there was no one to seat us, until a suit came scurrying through the door, and wanted to put my wife and I at a narrow two-person table within a step of the omelet line. It was easily the worst table in the house, and as only two tables were occupied, seemed odd. We asked for a larger table. He did lead us to one, but with an expression as though he'd just bitten deep into a lemon. You might assume the restaurant business would pick up and justify his choice, but over the next hour six people left, and eight people arrived. There were three tables occupied when we left, in turn.

He never showed up again, and we found out from one of a hostess that he was the restaurant's manager. I recommend a personality transplant. They're not that expensive these days, and a restaurant of the quality Muse possesses deserves something better than the pettiness with which he led off our anniversary meal.
