I tried to order online for this place through Toast. I had my plans change a bit on me, so I called to cancel my order and ask for a refund. I was quickly moved off the call but was told they won't make the food. I didn't think much of it. I then had more concrete plans come through, it was still half an hour away from my original pre-order, so I called back to see if maybe they could just move the order to a later time. Whoever answered the phone was one of the rudest people I have ever had pick up a phone call. No "hello", just straight into. "SHE IS A CHEF AND DOESN"T HAVE TIME FOR YOU". I was like "excuse me?" "YEAH SHE DOESN"T HAVE THE TIME". I was like..."you don't even know who I am or what I am calling about???" Who in customer and food service answers the phone like that??? I was then put on hold and had a repeat experience with the next person. Finally the last person was somewhat cordial and I was trying to understand why I was being rude to, and why have an option on toast to call if you can't handle phone calls??? She just hung up on me, which is whatever. If you are too busy to answer phone calls, maybe have a voice message that politely says "We here at Madison Kitchen appreciate your business. We are currently at our busiest times of the day and sadly cannot answer your phone call. Please leave a message or email us at (EMAIL) and we promise to reply as soon as we can." I have worked in the industry for many years. I have answered phone calls with lines out the door, people putting in orders and also while handing out orders. It's a lot, and it's okay if you can't answer the phone. But please, have some sort of pride around addressing this properly and not rudely telling your customers off because you can't handle the heat. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Food and drinks are good, but I was disappointed by the amount of single-use plastic. Even for hot food and drinks, there didn’t seem to be an option to request a real cup or plate. It feels wasteful, bad for the environment, and not ideal given concerns around microplastics. Would love to see them offer reusable dishware or at least a lower-plastic option. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

We use many many compostable items in both service and the kitchen.
