I live right around the corner from this place and was happy to see them embracing the concept of being a place to watch the World Cup games. Service was amazing during the USA v Paraguay game - the staff was clearly geared up for the crowd and the drinks were good. Tonight was a huge contrast though - food was good but the service horrible. Waited outside too long for the drink, even longer for the entree, and then waited over 30 minutes for a simple cup of soup that never actually came - apparently the waiter ‘forgot’ before he left, even though he went back to the chefs to check ingredients before I ordered it. Super frustrating and rude - there are plenty of other places to watch the games. I will not be back on Mondays. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: $30–40

My partner and I stopped at Yoka to grab a coffee and then decided to have lunch at Madrona Arms. After standing in the doorway for a few minutes with no one greeting us, we thought maybe we should seat ourselves. After looking at the menu, the bartender came up to us and said that his boss doesn't allow outside drinks and that they can't serve us. The boss, I believe, is a man on his laptop who shot us a look when we walked in, but did not say a word to us. I understand a no outside food or drink policy when it's something that you serve, but I highly doubt that Madrona Arms makes an Einspanner or Banana Bread Latte. The whole situation is uncomfortable considering that we were the only people of color to come into the pub, something else that other reviews have noted. We definitely will not be coming back here, and it's a shame that this establishment is seated amongst welcoming and thriving small businesses along the same few blocks in Madrona. The no outside drink policy is for everything, not just something we don’t serve. It’s a guideline put in place by the liquor board. When you bring in a beverage that we didn’t make we don’t know what’s in it. It leaves us open to liability.
