We visited Magma as a family group of seven, which gave us the perfect opportunity to order a variety of dishes and share everything around the table. What we experienced was much more than just a great meal – it was a complete dining experience. From the moment we arrived until we left, the service was outstanding. Every member of the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. A special thank you goes to the sushi chef, who came to our table before we ordered to talk with us about our preferences. He took the time to recommend dishes and created a personalized selection for us. As someone who is fairly new to sushi, this completely changed my expectations and set a very high standard for future sushi experiences. All seven of us tasted a little bit of everything, and we all agreed: Magma delivers the complete package. Amazing food, beautiful presentation, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere that suits guests of all ages. We enjoyed it so much that we’ll be coming back once more before we leave Crete. Fantastic lunch in a beautiful setting I had lunch today at Magma Restaurant, located right by Dyo Suites in Rethymno, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The place is stylish and relaxed, with a modern interior and tropical touches that make it feel both upscale and welcoming. The food really impressed me. We ordered a nice variety of dishes: • Crispy fried chicken bites served with lemon – perfectly golden and juicy. • Two types of flatbread pizza – one with creamy cheese, cherry tomatoes, and basil, the other with tangy tomato and feta. Both had excellent crusts and great balance of flavors. • Potato wedges with a rich, herby dipping sauce – well-seasoned and crispy outside, soft inside. • Charcuterie platter with salami, ham, nuts, cheeses (feta, blue, hard cheeses), dried fruits, and breadsticks – a generous and delicious spread, ideal for sharing. Portions were good and presentation was spot on, served on black slate trays that elevated the experience. Service was friendly and fast, even during lunch hours. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a stylish but casual lunch spot in Rethymno with great Mediterranean flavors and a bit of a modern twist. I’d definitely go back!
