Wonderful new spot on the map of Trieste. We visit friends here once a year, and over the past two years this is already the second specialty coffee place in the city. It’s really encouraging to see the ice slowly melting — this conservative city, which considers itself the coffee capital, is gradually opening up to the specialty industry. For now it’s about one new place per year, but soon the trend toward quality will start growing faster. Huge respect to the pioneers who walk this path first, breaking the ice. Although Italy gave us espresso and cappuccino, the world of coffee beyond its borders has long moved ahead. While the old guard defends their habits, the younger generation wants flat whites, V60, matcha, and so on. The owner is a lovely woman who really knows her craft. Behind the bar sits a La Marzocco Linea, two espresso options to choose from, matcha and cold drinks on the menu, and for filter they’re brewing on Geisha — it was delicious. Highly recommend.
