Martin's Kitchen is without a doubt, the most lovely and delicious dining experience you will ever have. The staff are all wonderfully friendly and the owners are present and attentive. The atmosphere is uniquely intimate in the atrium and cozy and warm in the main restaurant section. The food is beyond compare!! Martin has curated very individual dishes that you simply won't find elsewhere and Sheila's dessert menu is worthy of ordering every option (highly recommend ordering the chocolate cake with the addition of raspberry coulis). A dynamic and talented husband and wife duo make Martin's a "must do" in Halifax. ** We dine at Martin's as often as we can and have recently been overwhelmed by the extraordinary service and experience given to us by the entire staff. Celebrating our wedding anniversary on a Wednesday evening with the entire atrium to ourselves was truly magical. It is usually very, very good, but now the consistency seems to be dropping. The calamari changed months ago and not for the better. It maybe that they are ordering precoated calamari, but out of the last 3 times ordered, they are tough and not enjoyable. Last night, I had one of their specials, and it was so bad, I couldn't eat it. The pork was tough and my plate was swimming in about a cup and half of unreduced cream sauce. It was more like soup in my plate with everything including the potatoes and veg all swimming in the sauce. What was even stranger were the scallops, they weren't cooked and they were cold sitting on top of the pork and were not even warm. Usually plates are always plated very nicely, but mine certainly wasn't and looked like everything had just been tossed on the plate with no care.

Best restaurant experience in the province hace 6 años en Restaurant Guru

Nova Scotia ranks fabulous in most departments with some obvious exceptions like lousy medical care and administration of it but when it comes to restaurants, we simply excel in a plethora of choices right across the province. My choice as of May 2018 as the most outstanding is an easy choice that being Martin’s Kitchen at the Indian Lake Golf Course a ten minute drive from downtown Halifax and one of the same added on features is that it is out of town with a beautiful setting. All the staff is superlative and the chefs, exceptional people who just happen as well to be, perhaps the best in the land of plenty. I love this place and go frequently but fear soon there will be line ups out the door. There should be.
