Merece la pena visitar Massimo's por su casero helado, su sabrosa crema de chocolate y su delicada tarta de queso. I spilt my whole drink all over my food and they replaced my entire meal in no time at all with no charge. I didn’t even have to ask. Amazing service and friendly staff. A thin, slightly crispy pizza crust tailored to local tastes, which clearly lean toward light, thin pizzas. The indulgent, hearty Neapolitan-style pizza—beautiful, delicious, impossible to finish in one sitting but irresistible enough to raid the fridge for at midnight—remains elusive on this continent. While this style appeals to many, it leaves others (globetrotters and expats craving a "come a casa" experience) wanting more. That said, the toppings are of excellent quality. It's undoubtedly the best pizza I've had in South Africa and arguably the best on the continent. So: Grazie!

thanks Ewen. Our pizza is the Romana style, so much lighter & digestable than the Napoletana style.

I went in for the first time yesterday to Massimo's. I was told that the restaurant is fully booked and that I should sit at the outside table. A few minutes later I had a waiter approach me informing me that the tables were sandpapered and therefore cannot sit outside. When I got a table, there were vacant tables all around me. I came in about after 2pm so this was past lunch time. The pasta was burnt and same for pizza. Has anyone experienced this type of service and food? Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: R 350–400 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

hi, you came on a very busy Sunday lunch, we recommend to always book in advance (the vacant tables around you were reserved for bookings). I just reviewed the cctv and i see that your waitress Princess checked on you a few minutes after you started eating your baked pasta. Had there been any problem with it, that would have been the right moment for you to mention it, but you seemed to enjoy it and even took home in 2 doggy bags the remaining of your pasta and pizza. As an answer to your question regarding the type of service and food, i suggest you check the other review posted yesterday: 'It's easily one of the best pizzas restaurants I've been in over 50 years on this planet'. We might not get it right all the time, but if we are informed on the moment about any problem, we try hard to fix it. Hopefully you will give us another chance, but please book this time.
