Had food at Meatin for the first time today and now I understand why it's always so busy! I've walked past many times and wondered what all the fuss was about, and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the lamb chops, chicken wings, and peri peri chicken. Everything was cooked well, full of flavour, and served hot. The lamb chops were especially tasty and the peri peri had a great kick to it. Friendly atmosphere, good portions, and definitely worth a visit. I would happily come back again and would recommend Meatin to anyone looking for quality grilled food. This review is based purely on my personal experience as a local customer. The chicken burger meal was very basic. It was just a chicken fillet in a bun with salad. There was no cheese, no red onion and no tomato, which I would expect as standard for a chicken burger at this price. The burrito was also disappointing. It contained far too much rice and was missing common ingredients such as beans, onions and sauce, which made it feel unbalanced and lacking flavour. The service was the main issue. When placing a phone order, there was no clear or consistent process. One staff member asked for my name, another asked again, and despite this, part of my order was missed. I was then asked to return from home to collect the missing item. Orders should be checked before being given to customers. I have ordered from here before as a local customer, but based on this experience I will not be returning unless things change. The food quality and service did not match the prices charged. This use to be our favourite spot for takeouts. Until recently my husband had a bad experience of gone off smelly chicken that has put him off for life. The worst part was when he questioned it he was told there's nothing wrong and insisted the chicken is fresh when my husband knew full well it wasn't. Thinking this was just a one off bad experience, my husband's FRIEND then experienced the exact same. Smelly gone off chicken he told the workers only to be told it's a change in sauce which is causing this off smell??? I don't know what's going on, rumour has it there's been a change in management but so disappointing I use to love this place.
