Guys, I don't know how the hell it is that I didn't know Mahaniyom had a sister restaurant, but MY GOD, if you haven't been to this place, you NEED to go. The cocktails are some of the best I've had in Boston by far: imaginative, refreshing, delicious, and satisfyingly intoxicating. Our service was phenomenal - I kept seeing my water refilled when I didn't even know they had done it. Food came out quickly, and was slap-the-table delicious (we had the hot dog, the nachos, the chicken rice and the ribs). Anyone underselling how good it is would have to be splitting hairs, and I say this as someone who usually reads the word "fusion" with skepticism. The ribs were particularly surprising, as they're the smoky-type without any sauce layer, yet somehow juicy as hell and beyond delicious. The hot dog is beyond description: like a thai sausage, only with a sweeter garlicky flavor, and topped with salted-yolk mayo and butter-seared bun that altogether I would imagine has to be one of (if not THE) best bar bites in all of Boston. Mahaniyom is remarkable for their respect of the Thai palate - Merai is remarkable for their ability to incorporate Thai flavors to make them approachable to the American palate, without at all coming across as gimmicky. We would (and will) go back to this place in a heartbeat. The space is lively, the vibe is upbeat and energizing (and on the louder side - but I'm Italian and my wife is Laotian, and we prefer that honestly!). Honestly, it's only a matter of time until Michelin recognizes this place, too. Take my advice and get a table before they're listed! Price per person: $60–70 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Awesome spot! Love the thai fusion take on bar food and the drinks are all well balanced. They also have a full bar with some interesting finds like the himbri gin we’ve seen in iceland. Highlights were the pork dumplings, tarro fries fried chicken sandwich and thai nachos. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

My friends and I were there last week for my birthday and the staff were welcoming and happy to celebrate! We had a party of six and so we booked a week ahead of time since the restaurant is mostly 4-top and bar seating. But booking by phone was super easy! The food was a delightful fusion and the drinks were creative. There was a range of drinks from sweet to complex flavors and seemingly everything in between, offering something for everyone’s palette. The staff that night was a 10/10, will definitely be back in the future!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
