It's been awhile since we last had dinner at Mercato, and based on the food last night, I wish we ate here much more often. Mercato is a BYOB, Italian influenced, and their food is simply delicious. Since there were four of us, and their starters looked so good, and we are gearing up for bathing suit season, our "dates" didn't want too much pasta (which is excellent here!!!). So we ordered the grilled artichokes, caesar salad, mussels, and their meatballs, all small plates but very nice portions! Then we all shared the short rib ravioli, which was incredible. What could be better in Philly, than great food at a BYOB, and did I mention the open kitchen , with wonderful servers! Thank you Mercato ! Price per person: $30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We had a great experience at Mercato! The food was delicious from start to finish. We began with the whipped ricotta appetizer, which was creamy and flavorful, and a perfect way to start the meal. For the main course, I had the rigatoni vodka, and it was excellent and rich, well-balanced, and cooked just right. We ended with the tiramisu, which was the perfect sweet finish. Overall, a really enjoyable dining experience with great food. Rita was a very good server. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything came out perfectly. Went there for our anniversary dinner and couldn't be happier with our meal. The mussels are hearty, fresh, a good size... so fresh and yummy, I can drink that sauce. The Mushroom flatbread of the day was richly covered with fresh ingredients...and had a super delicious balance of flavors with glazes. The leg of lamb, cooked Osso Bucco style, was just the most unforgettable dish-- tender, moist, flavorful and accompanied by a perfectly seasoned au jus gravy and the most memorable and perfectly cooked polenta. For someone who is not a fan of lamb or polenta, that dish turned me around as its homey and still very delicate. The chefs there have really mastered their technique. My husband had the fish special cooked soft and with perfectly seared edges and with a delicious al dente risotto and fresh broccolini. We brought a Carmen Chilean wine that was perfect for the meal. Ever since this place opened people refer to it as a jewel and it's still a precious spot for an unforgettable BYOB dinner. Price per person: $30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
