Haven’t been to the Messager in a few months the atmosphere has changed since last time and I love it! There were two staff working during the peak of the England game( think it was the manager and his assistant younger blonde lady) but they smashed it didn’t seem to bother them! Very quick service, served with a smile, everyone was happy and the place was booming with amazing music. dancing singing. Think the young lady was called Jorge? she was excellent, dancing and singing while pouring multiple drinks keeping everyone lively. Kept it professional but brought the vibe massively. Haven’t had service in a pub like it in Years! Well done guys ! Really enjoyed myself will be coming in for the next game ! Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I just wanted to share the lovely experience I had today, all thanks to Chris, the manager at The Messenger. I ended up stranded in The Messenger car park after a nail punctured my tyre, and to make matters worse, I didn't have a spare. I've never been in that situation before, so I had no idea what to do. Chris was amazing. He came and helped me check the tyre and then called Save On Tyres for me, who were there within the hour to replace it. While I was waiting, he gave me a free drink and even offered me some food on his tab. He also stayed and kept me company until the tyre company arrived, which really helped take my mind off what was quite a stressful situation. It's such a lovely, friendly pub, and I'll definitely be coming back with my partner. They also have some great food and drink offers, and they do a Rock 'n' Roll Bingo night, which we'll definitely have to check out! Thank you so much, Chris. Your kindness and willingness to help a complete stranger meant more than you know. You really turned a stressful day into a much better one, and I'm so grateful Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Called in for a couple of drinks, but extremely expensive if you don't drink Carling or Carlsburg!! Double house vodka and a can, not much cheaper of the pump, so three rounds cost £44.92. As a Greene King pub there is usually some discount from the app. Now, whether the app had issues, or the establishment has disabled the ability access the app, we can't be certain, but rest assured we will not be visiting there again anytime soon. Price per person: £10–20

Hi Joanne,The pub itself has no control over the price of drinks as these are all set by Greene king. I can assure you that the app has been fully working all day with other customers having been able to use it. I’m sorry that you are unhappy about the price of drinks however as already stated this is not in the pubs control.
