Not a Korean "restaurant," but a BAR with Korean street food. What I mean by that is that the actual Korean traditional dishes are just... bad. The food that most people get here (essentially fried chicken and other Korean street-food fare) is pretty good, from what I saw and heard from the other customers. My parents were in town and looking for a late night Korean restaurant since we were busy most of the day. This place popped up and had decent reviews, so we went. Unfortunately, as with most ethnic foods/restaurants, the higher reviews are often by people who weren't raised on the culture's food. So when we got out stews and SINGLE BANCHAN OF KIMCHI, we were more than surprised, especially given the fact the staff and most likely the owner were Korean. We asked the server if he knew how old the kimchi was, or if he even tasted it at all. He did not. He even responded to our request for more side dishes with "well... this place is more like a bar. I apologize." Don't serve food you can't make well! It's pointless! If we saw the menu and it was just a fried chicken/grilled meats type of menu, we would have left. But we saw traditional stews and plates on the menu, so we stayed. Side note: the kimchi itself was the stuff of Gordon Ramsay's nightmares. The color was close to BROWN and sour, WAY past the point where some people enjoy sour kimchi: my dad and I really like over-fermented kimchi, but this was a whole 'nother beast. That coupled with the fact that the kimchi was room temperature did not help at all. I give this place a 3 because I'm sure non-Koreans/people who just want alcohol and fried/street food would love it. But for people looking for a normal Korean restaurant experience, this ain't it. P.S. at 10PM, they dim the lights from 50% dim to 10% dim and turn the music up LOUD. Why? No clue.

Great late night meal! So Misung is no longer called Misung 888, it's actually SoHo There are not that many late night Asian restaurants in the Austin area. Those that do open late are mostly located downtown (which is a bad location during the weekend) or Pizza places. So it was great to find a location that opens late at night. The food menu has been changed because there's a new owner. My favorite is their corn cheese! I also like their fried popcorn chicken. TIP: They take a Polaroid photo for you if you ask and it will be on their wall!

Came to this place because after midnight this was one of the few in the area that served hot food, great for rainy winter night. It serves very delicious (and seemed to be authentic too ) Korean. Didn't try many on the menu but ordered two hot pot style soups. Perfect tonic for a late night snack!
