I popped into this sleek, minimalist space for a quick reset and was impressed by how much they managed to do with such a clean design. The focus is entirely on the quality of the brew, and you can tell the baristas are true experts by the way they talk about the beans. My drink was prepared with a level of care that made it easily the best thing I’d tasted all morning. Even though it’s a small shop, it didn't feel cramped; it felt focused and intentional. It’s the perfect stop for anyone who values a really high-standard coffee served in a calm, modern environment.

Dropped into Modus Coffee in Mount Lawley on the way into the city and was really impressed. The café has a cool, minimalist feel but still manages to be warm and welcoming. Ordered a long mac topped up which was perfectly balanced — rich, smooth and came out quickly even though there was a steady stream of customers. Also grabbed a toasted banana bread which was spot on. The barista was happy to chat about the different beans they rotate through, which was a nice touch. Great local spot if you’re serious about your coffee. Service: Dine in Price per person: $20–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
