I am so excited to see The Java Cafe in business. I use to frequent their Laurel location - wish they were still here. I could not make it today, but will be back in the area soon to order my favorite, the Jamaican Jerk. If you are scrollling the reviews trying to decide, its worth a visit. I highly recommended. Will update this review with photo's soon. You will need to park and go inside. EDIT I made it. Only regret, I should have gotten two of the chicken salad. Maybe next time. My first visit I had the most delicious sweet potato cake —rich, moist, and full of flavor. Absolutely amazing! I will definitely be back for more. They had a wonderful fashion show to celebrate Black History Month. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Stopped by More Than Java Café and it absolutely lived up to the name. I grabbed the Salmon Egg & Cheese sandwich, which was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly put together—definitely not your average breakfast sandwich. I paired it with the Island Paradise Smoothie, and that was a win all on its own: smooth, refreshing, and packed with tropical flavor. The staff really made the experience even better. They were welcoming, friendly, and patient, taking the time to make sure everything was right and offering great energy from the moment I walked in. You can tell they genuinely care about both the food and the people they’re serving. What also stood out is the variety on the menu—plenty of great options, and everything I saw coming out looked just as good as what I ordered. And if you’re planning something special, they also prepare charcuterie boards, which are perfect for events or even to share while you’re visiting the café.
